La Belle Brigante Giveaway.

 I am so excited about what the postman bought for me today. A little while ago I won the surprise giveaway from www.labellebrigante.blogspot.com.  Margot has made a beautiful mini doll, made from scratch in 18th Century style. He is absolutely perfect and every detail is wonderful. I love his hair, his little coat and his super cute boots. He is fabulous! I hope now that the future owner (1/12th doll) that lives in my miniature house will be as fantastically dressed as he is.

This dining room was part of a cupboard that had been converted into a doll house. Great idea that gives you a really good sized room to furnish.

Sydney Doll house and Miniatures Fair 2012 Part 1

 Last weekend my Mum and I headed off to Sydney to attend the Sydney Fair. It was the first time that I had been to this fair and I'll definitely will be going next year. I had so much fun and there were plenty of goodies to look at. I decided to go with a budget, which kept me from buying things I really didn't need. I also decided to go with the projects I'm currently doing in mind. So unless it would fit in my soon to be built Victorian House or Mum's Deli. I wasn't to buy it.

 These lovely potatoes where from a New Zealand  seller. I think they may be my favourite piece from the show. They look so real and should fit perfectly in my Victorian House.

 These are my very first purchase of Ruetter Porcelain. I've been looking at sets on eBay for ages and finally chose which pattern I would collect. I decided on the 'Blue Onion' pattern as I collect Real life sized blue and white porcelain. Mum wanted to buy me some as well so I was extra lucky to get 2 more sets.

After purchasing at the last miniature show some flowers for Mum's Shop I was really keen for some of my own. Luckily the same seller was at the Sydney show so this time I got some beautiful Iris. The added bonus was that they are in a Reutter Porcelain vase. 

I will add some pictures of some of the miniatures on display in my next post.

Happy Mothers Day to all those Mothers out there in blogland. Mum and I will celebrate with afternoon tea at the local cafe.

Playing with bottles.

I found a couple of tutorials on the net on how to make miniature perfume bottles and I thought I'd have a go. I decided to use a couple of jewelry bits and pieces. I'm trying superglue first to see if it works. I'm a little concerned that it has left some white residue near the glue site. I've left them to dry before I trim them.

Best Easter Ever!

This week I received a fabulous gift from my boyfriend. Somehow, somewhere he found a person who had purchased a dollhouse kit whilst living in Canada. They purchased the kit from Ross' Treasure House and it is based on a Houseworks Victorian Design. (Does anyone have a house from this shop? I'd love to see the completed design) Anyway it became mine during the week!

There were 4 boxes in total.

As I started to unpack the boxes there were heaps and heaps of extras. All the doors and windows are in the pack. The wall cladding, stairs, spindles, railings, shingles are all there. There are a heap of timber bits and pieces, possibly architrave and some flooring sheets. It also looks like there might be a heap of wallpaper, enough for the whole house. (William Morris Designs)

Now all of this was pretty exciting but there was one more box to look in. It looked like a heap more house pieces. As I was pulling it out of the box a piece of paper came with it. It ends up that the original owner also purchased an optional extension. The extension is a combination of a tower kit and an extension. This means that my new house will have 12 rooms. (Very exciting). So I'll finally be able to have a decent sized kitchen, bathroom, dining room, lounge room, study, main bedroom, baby room, music room etc etc. I've always liked a house that had a turrett, and I've finally got one (even if it is in a million bits)

Part of the wiring kit was also in there so I'll have to buy a few bits for it.
