Hello Everybody.
Today's post is a very sad one for me to write. Yesterday, I got home from work to find my beloved budgie Buckley had suddenly died.
Last year, soon after my boyfriend had a motor bike accident( he was in cast for 5 months) we decided to get a bird that could keep him company while he recovered.
So we got Buckley the budgerigar.
I have always been a little frightened to hold a bird, but with Buckley it was different. He never bit me and most of the time he liked people's company.
He was a big talker and could say "Hello Buckley" (though it sounded more like "Heeeelllloooooo Buck weeeeeeeee!")and a few tunes. He particularly liked to talk to "his friends" on the television. He listened to a lot of music and would sing quite loudly if he REALLY liked it. My boyfriend and I often joked about his terrible taste in music!
He absolutely LOVED his mirror, having a big chat to his "Mirror" friends.
Buckley was just over a year old and his death was pretty horrible.
I will miss him heaps, and the house is far too quiet!

So sorry to hear of your loss. What a pretty boy and so young, birds are such fragile creatures. I am sure he had a happy life and was well-loved. I hope your boyfriend has fully recovered from his accident.

Hi IndyPoppy, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a beloved pet is always so hard. Our pets love unconditionally and provide so much joy in our lives. You and Buckley are in my thoughts. xo Jennifer

ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about your pet bird and now the empty cage. The loss of our pets is so tragic and not easy to get over. Give yourself some time though, cause time does heal.

Im so sorry to hear that. I know how you feel, my cockatiel Ichabod (who was very tame)died because he ate a poison vine last year. It was terrible.
ReplyDeleteSon los dos preciosos.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. Those little pets are so important to our quality of life. At least you had him for a little while and he enriched your lives greatly. They are just on loan from God for a short time. But remember God has many more little friends lined up to come into your life. May your hearts heal quickly and may your memories of Buckley keep you smiling.
ReplyDeletebig hugs♥,
Caroline

I missed this post because I have been taking a break from blog land and the net. I've heard birds are quite smart and make great companions. Recently when we were on vacation my husband and I talked at length about whether or not we should get a dog. We would love to, but decided now is not the right time. Lots of responsibility! Sharing such a personal lodge takes courage, and I commend you for it. My heart and prayers are with you as you mourn your wonderful friend Buckley.
